This was a trip of a lifetime!
Knowing what I know now… I would have reversed the trip and took the northern route to Idaho then south to Arizona. Only because the issues that could be different each year. For one thing the weather was an odd year. I heard many times that AZ was colder than it has been in several years. I can tell you this… desert nights can get pretty cold! I spent a lot more on gas dodging cold.
